BubbleDiver

BubbleDiver

A few guys have asked me about the Bubble Diver so I thought I'd write this up:

The Bubble Diver has been around for a while.  Actually applied for a patent back in 2019 after a year or so of development and was selling them on eBay.  It's a balanced diver that 'trips' when struck by a fish and then 'dives' (pulls) the fish to the surface.   This makes it easy to pull the fish/board/lure across your spread no matter where the fish is.

The original was 3D printed with FDM and was prone to leaking so every diver had to be sealed and tank tested.  Design 2 used a wire slide and a foam body for flotation.  Major improvement!  But had to tweak to achieve the perfect balance for proper operation.  Then after a couple years of eBay sales the supplier changed their size or density or...?  Something was off with the foam body...and it wouldn't run correctly.  So last fall I switched over to my new print/mold/cast method with resin.  Design 3...takes a bit of time to run them, but looks cleaner and I now have control over the air chamber.  This should allow perfect tuning.  I think I'm there, but haven't fished it enough to be sure.  Got caught-up trying to 'out-glow' the other guys...which was fun (UltraMegaGlow!) but now I'm too busy to finish this up...or even get it into the Test Lure section!   Anyway, that's the story.  If you're really interested in them let me know and I'll try to get you a couple when I have time.
